What the Cork

I save every cork from every bottle of wine.  I originally started saving them to make a cork board and a cutting board, but then I decided to use them for decoration in some vases I had.  

Today I went on to my next crafty cork project... picture frames!!

I have had these frames for a while and they were both pretty plain.  I think this is the perfect solution!

I still have quite a few corks left, so I'm open to suggestions for what else I can do with them!

**NOTE:  I know what you're thinking, 'Dang, Lindsay, that is a LOT of wine!'  FYI I have been saving corks for many years.  Many.  I also have taken them from my parents, restaurants and wine tasting events when available.

Nail Files Friday

I like this color... Bangle Jangle. It's greyish purple/blue. The only problem is that the polish chips really fast. I feel like the $2 Sally Hansen polish I have lasts longer. Anyone else? I've tried top coats, no coats, top and bottom coats. No luck.

Crayons

Saw this on Pinterest and I HAD to try it.  You use a hot glue gun to attach the crayons to a canvas (in any order you like.  I liked the rainbow.)  Then you use a hairdryer to melt the wax.  You either need to do this outside or protect the wall/floor/splash zone from the wax.  Then you watch it melt.  You can't really make it fall in any direction... I tried... it's hard.  But I think it looks better when you can't control it.

Next, I have a black canvas.  Can't wait to see how that looks!

Feb Birchbox

Eh. Wasn't too thrilled with this. I do like the face moisturizer and serum, but was hoping for more makeup. I was excited about the eyelash stickers, but I tried them and it's super hard to blink and not very comfortable. And then I got juicy perfume and spicy chocolate and a music download.

I know I should give it another month, but I feel like I could spend my $10 elsewhere and get some products that I know I love.  I do really like the Benta Berry cream!

I am in love!  ESP with the sparkles.  They're fat round sparkles and they are adorbs!

PINTEREST Addicts Anonymous

Ever since I discovered Pinterest I have been pinning and exploring non-stop.  Every recipe I have tried recently or art project or craft I have started has been because of this lovely site.  (if you're not on it leave me a post with your e-mail and I'll send an invite).  It is the best.  Here are some of my Pinterest inspired creations:

I made these for the holiday cookie exchange parties... upside down gingerbread man = reindeer!

These little treats were DELICIOUS.  Mini oreo cheesecakes.  YUM.  Instead of a crust there is a full oreo at the bottom of each one.

Here is a work in progress... I'm sure most of you have seen the melted crayon art.  Will post final pics when it's done!

Snapseed

I got this new photo editing app that I am in love with!! It is called Snapseed and I have it on my iPhone. I was playing around with it today so I have some before and afters, but they prob won't post in the order I want (blogger app is laaame).

V-Day Swap!

This swap was so much fun!  I really enjoyed sending candy and makeup to Michelle @ The Vintage Apple.  I would absolutely participate in another swap!!  Especially because she got me the most amazing things!  Check it outttttttt 

Super in LOVE with everything she sent!  And I needed a new makeup bag!  I had to take this pic right after I opened the box because soon after I ate way too much candy.  (Helloooo peanut butter filled chocolate)

Okay, seriously I couldn't have gotten better colors!  I will show you how they look on the next nail files link up!  Really, really love the glitter polish!

These are awesome.  I had never heard of Baby Lips (by Maybelline), but not only do they make your lips soft and pretty... they both smell incredible!!  I've been wearing one or the other everyday!
