Oh Gosh!

I am soooo excited for the weekend! For the first time in MONTHS, I have absolutely no plans. Can't wait! Hooray August is almost here!!! I'm ready to lay by the pool with a glass of wine :)

I am so ready for August! Not only will the craziness at work be over, but it also means it's finally time for the STATE FAIR! It is my favorite part of the year. I just cannot wait for the rides and the pretzels & dip!

Bruschetta.

I had some leftover topping from a dinner I had and made some bruschetta (kind of). I broiled bread with butter, garlic powder and parmesan and put the tomato-basil mixture on it... YUM.

Today...

Is an entire day dedicated to the sun :)

Washing the car, laying by the pool & relaxing with friends. And of course, onion dip.

Wicked is playing in San Francisco and I cannot wait to finally see it! We are hoping to go one weekend in August and I am so excited! I LOVE the soundtrack and I haven't heard anything less than amazing reviews!

The Hangover.

I heard it was hilarious, but I didn't want to get my hopes up... and oh man was I impressed! It was SO FUNNY~!! Usually all of those movies are pretty gross and have interesting types of humor, but The Hangover was not what I expected. It was just laugh out loud funny!!! See it!

Secret Life.

I am totally addicted to The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family! My sister used to watch it every week with her friends and I saw clips of it here and there, but it always looked kind of silly. Towards the end of the 1st season they had a marathon that I got tangled in and fell in love! It really is a cute show. It's about a 15yr old girl, Amy, who gets pregnant the first time she has sex. It has the typical stereotypes: the jock, the nerd, the slut, the good Christian, and the player.They all have such drama in their lives! It's definitely made for kids to warn them of the consequences of peer pressure and sex, but I really like it!! Hahaha!

What!?

Saturday we drove down to San Francisco to go to the Kenny Chesney concert. Not to see Kenny, but to see Sugarland, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert!!! Five of us carpooled and it took days with the traffic! We finally got there and I was so excited and I went to buy a Sugarland shirt... WELL, the guy tells me they're not coming! He was told to pull all Sugarland gear at noon. I was so mad! We got up to the gate and saw that Jennifer Nettles hurt her voice. WHATEVER! I am really sad I didn't get to see them because they are my absolute favorite!!! Besides that, it was a great show and because we only wanted to see the 2 openers, we got a full refund since Sugarland didn't come. Basically saw Lady Antebellum and Miranda for free! Guess it all worked out? Kind of.

Spinach & Feta.

I needed to use some spinach before it went bad so I made a salad with feta and made my own secret {delicious} dressing:

2nd Saturday!

We went to Second Saturday last weekend and had a blast! A bunch of art galleries are open and FREE and have wine and snacks. The one we really liked had all the artists sitting by their paintings/sculptures/photographs selling their work. Oh, and they had gelato :). There was this couple who had a booth with purses so we went to check it out. They sell wallets, purses and bags that are handmade by this Mexican family. They were really awesome! They're made out of candy wrappers or barcodes and then they coat it with some kind of wax or something so they don't come apart! Natasha and I each had to get one!

My favorite part is that each bag is unique. I can't wait to use it! I loved this orange one because, well it's orange, and the really cute handle! hahaha. Right?!

Garlic-basil oil.

I got some flavored oil last week and I am in love! It's not just for dipping. I have used it on pasta, bread & my favorite... tomatoes!

I got a couple tomatoes at Safeway and they were surprisingly great! I sliced them up, coated them with my garlic basil oil, then cooked them in a skillet and seasoned them with lemon pepper and salt.

Of course I topped it all with feta!! It was so good. I can't wait to make more! It was almost a healthy snack until the cheese, but oh man-- it was tasty!
