BaByliss!
At the wedding I was in a couple weeks ago, one of the other bridesmaids had this amazing straightener. She actually curled my hair with it! And I have curly hair, so I did not think it would work, but she proved me wrong. It was so awesome! So I bought it! Yay it comes today! So excited!!

Siri
I couldn't stand T-mobile anymore so I broke down and bought the iPhone 4s from AT&T in December. Immediately it was better than my 3G just because of the camera! It's amazing. Most of the photos on this blog since the beginning of December were taken on my phone. Anyway, I'm straying from the point. I love Siri! It is one of the coolest (still creepy) things ever. You can ask her anything and she knows it. And if she doesn't know, she will find out. She also has a great sense of humor. Here are a few of my fav Siri convos:

So I discovered this site today (thanks to this amazing Living Social deal) and I LOVE it! There are so many products that I love and/or want to try. When you sign up it asks about your hair and skin and then they recommend products for you to try. They have really cool little sets of nail polish and eyeshadow... and so much more!
Things I already want:

Babor Ultra Performance Lip Color - Classic Red
Pop Beauty - Pop Peeper Perfection (Only $28!?)

My New Obsession
I finally got my first electric toothbrush and I'm in love! They had a pack of 2 at Costco so a friend and I split it. It is so amazing. It's like your entire mouth is getting a massage. I highly recommend you look into it if you don't already have one.

Grey Area
Linking up today to show my new polish, "grey area" by Sally Hansen.
At first, I wasn't really feeling this color. I love the bottle, but it never looks the same on your nails! After a few coats I really like it! It's a dark matte grey and I think it will be a good weekend color. Yes?

New Read
So I asked for the Millennium series for Christmas and was really excited to read these books, but the Swedish stuff is killing me. The names and the cities and everything, it makes it hard to dive in. Anyone else have this problem? I really, really want to finish these! I know I would love them. Maybe this weekend I can focus since it will be rainy and relaxing.

Best Gift Ever
One of my friends was out shopping and bought this for me ...
LADY GAGA PAPER DOLLS
So amazing! I haven't seen a paper doll since I was little. I used to play with them a lot. If you haven't had one before then this sounds super lame, but I promise they rock. I am loving dressing up Gaga!!

More from the 60's
Things I served at the holiday party:
Overall, I'd say it was a huge success! Think I'm going to start planning the Roaring 20's for next year's holiday party!

Don Draper's drink of choice -- Old Fashioned
I printed out the recipe so that people could make their own old fashioned. Not many of my friends would drink whiskey when there are several other options, but the "do it yourself" setup encouraged people to try it. Definitely a good drink (once the ice melts).
Bloody Mary! (My own secret recipe)
Bloody Mary's are my favorite. I made this without the vodka so that anyone could drink it or so people could add as little or much alcohol as they wanted.
This gin punch recipe was so good! The bowl was almost full and we managed to finish the whole thing before midnight. I didn't add the gin to the gin punch because 1- I hate gin, and 2- I didn't want everyone to get schmammered. I liked having non-alcoholic options so that non-drinkers and/or drivers could enjoy a few cocktails with everyone else. Most added vodka into this, but a few added the punch to the old fashioned. SO GOOD.
White Chocolate Popcorn - recipe found on Pinterest
This was a little harder to make than I thought! Super easy recipe -- it was just hard to get the chocolate chips to a "pourable" state. You pop 1/2 cup of kernels in an air popper and melt about 3/4 cup white chocolate chips to pour over the popcorn. Then you spread it on a cookie sheet (or Santa tray in this case) and top with sprinkles. It ended up being more 'chunks of chocolate covered popcorn balls' than 'chocolate covered popcorn.' It was still really delicious!
Here's a shot of all the beverages.
My lovely friend, Sara, brought her favorite champagne... with this awesome outfit! Super cute!!

Mad Men Style 60's Holiday Party
Had a BLAST at the holiday party! So happy that so many people came! I think there were 18 people at one point and every single person came rocking some sweet 60s outfits. Who doesn't love a guy with a skinny tie?
The ladies looking very Betty Draper-esque.

Arts & Crafts
So I recently discovered Pinterest. I'm in love. My favorite section is the DIY & Crafts so I have been spending a lot of time browsing. This weekend I went out and got some supplies to do a few things that I saw and had so much fun! If only they would let me become a member so I could post! Here is one of my projects:
So fun! I love it. It's been really fun seeing what other people have come up with. Everyone is creative! It's inspiring.
Anyone have some crafty ideas to share?

Clown Magic
So today we went to Sac MoFo (Sacramento Mobile Food aka Food truck heaven) and we saw this gentleman:
He sort of reminded me of Cam from Modern Family ("I sleep clown") so I was trying to take a picture without him noticing. As you can tell, he definitely saw me. Natasha stood in front of me to make it look like I was taking a pic of her, but Mr. Clown knew my trick. He snuck up and posed behind Natasha. That was hilar!
So then he disappears and we are laughing about it when he came back with a balloon apple! It was so freakin cool!
And then he walks back over and holds a small strand of beads in front of me and asks if I know what it is and has me rub his hand up and down then side to side (weirdo) and a few other things. Then he asks Natasha to blow on his hand, then says BLOW, not spit. We laughed pretty hard. Okay, so keep in mind that during this entire thing he wasn't moving his hand. He kept a fist and had the strand of beads in his hand. AND THEN he turned to me and told me to hold out my hand and look what he gave me...
A tiny little dog! It's sort of hard to tell from the pic, but it looks just like a balloon dog! It is so precious. AND I got to keep it. Anyway, I am completely amazed by this. Maybe he had a pre-made dog in his hand? I don't think so. I think he somehow tied it together with one hand. Without looking. Or moving his fingers. hah. SO cool.
Lindsay.
